Barrique is a Wonderful Italian restaurant in Hin Kong run by Chef/Owner Toto and his wife Ewa, who is an amazingly friendly hostess.

The food here is really, really good.    Chef Toto takes pride in using the freshest ingredients available in preparing his well thought out and inspired dishes.   Chef Toto is a very talented chef of Italian origin and has worked many years in some of the best restaurants and hotels in Italy and Europe.     Chef Toto has honed his craft and culinary abilities well and it shows in all the dishes he prepares.    Everything I’ve had here has been delicious and the service, overseen by wife, partner and hostess Awa, is always very friendly,  attentive and welcoming.      More than just your typical Italian fare,  Chef Toto’s culinary abilities show in his outstanding preparations of beef, lamb and fish as well.

Try his handmade Raviolis, pastas, Lasagna to die for, Pizza’s are great, Salads amazing, Lamb, succulent, heck, it’s all good…….

This a a great Italian restaurant run by Chef/Owner Jenni and his wife Pit. It’s located in the center of Chaluklum and is situated on the main road, overlooking the beach.    Most tables are outside, so diners can enjoy the beauty and feel of charming Chaluklum. Some evening’s you’ll enjoy the music of an Italian musician playing accordian.

Jenni and his wife Pit are gracious hosts and Jenni is a talented Chef with a delightful personality.

All the food is tasty and his Pizza’s delicioso!   Pasta is made fresh daily, from Cannelloni and Lasagne to fresh Ravioli and Gnocchi.   Chef Jenni’s approach to his cooking is wholesome, rustic and unpretentious.    He uses the freshest of ingredients and you will not be disappointed.   

Soho, in the heart of Thong Sala, across from the Bangkok Bank, is a lively place with good food and drink.

Soho boasts 14 varieties of beer on tap, maybe the largest selection on Koh Phangan.

They are set up with TV’s to enjoy your favorite sport and cheer your team on with a couple of pints.

Food here is casual and good.   Great Gourmet Burgers, Mexican Food and Bar Snacks make up their fare here, it’s a simple menu but a good one and everything on it is tasty and fresh.

Service is also good.

Oh, Sunday Night Roasts are a thing here and if you’re English and miss your Sunday Roasts, this is a good place to indulge, with homemade Yorkshire pudding, yum.

Open all day and all night…

This venue looks like an old British villa and it is.    Located on the way out of Thong Sala, on your right, the Masons Arms is as British as you’ll find on Koh Phangan.    Inside is the pub and kitchen, where food is prepared with care.

English Breakfast is very popular here and if you are missing a traditional Sunday British Roast, this is the place to fill that void, as they offer Sunday Roast, with Yorkshire pudding each week.

Their Burgers and steaks are really good too.    Do try their braised Lamb Shank with Mashed Potatoes, yum!

A good place with good, hearty food and drink.

Overlooking the lake in the middle of Sri Thanu, Hemmingway’s offers a lovely place to sit, eat, sip Latte’s and enjoy some lovely food.

This venue has been designed well and has some of the most beautiful views of the lovely Laem Son lake. They also have some nice tunes piped through their place, which is both relaxing and inspiring.

Hemmingway’s also host some of the finest musicians and artists on the island to keep you entertained while you eat or drink

They also host events such as Writers collaborations, educational talks (TED talks KPN syle), music workshops and more in their secluded “Creative Cave”.

Mindfulness and spiritual practices can also be enjoyed in small groups on their “Upper Deck”, overlooking the lake from a wonderful elevated platform. Here you can also sit comfortably overlooking the lake, sipping your coffee drink and eating some tasty cake.
